I just wish someone else was here who'd lived through it. When I try to explain what happened to other people, I sound like I'm losing my mind. I never thought I'd say this but God I could really use a good debriefing right about now.

In my experience, most people may not know the specifics, but they know how it feels. Especially when it comes to choosing sides and fighting for what you believe in.

Until someone from your world comes along, you might find some solace in that. I know I have.

That's because I'm not. [ she could almost smile. ] Clint prefers to think I'm from some bad-ending version of the world, though. A lot of mental acrobatics to reconcile the fact that I don't lie.

Yeah, definitely sounds like he's living in denial.
