Ten minutes early. As fashionable as it is to be late, that only flies for social events. Not so much for heroing.

Plus, there's the unintentional bonus of preventing a crime before it begins.

You did nothing wrong. I guess it's natural that we'd want to prevent bad things from happening -- as often and as reliably as possible. I get it.

That, and if you arrive to a crime scene ten minutes early, you wouldn't know why you were there.

The military, at least. The poster-hero for the pro side has deep Air Force connections. I wouldn't be at all surprised if she was taking meetings at the White House specifically on the subject.

The military weren't much help back home. Can't imagine they were the same for you.

I just wish someone else was here who'd lived through it. When I try to explain what happened to other people, I sound like I'm losing my mind. I never thought I'd say this but God I could really use a good debriefing right about now.

In my experience, most people may not know the specifics, but they know how it feels. Especially when it comes to choosing sides and fighting for what you believe in.

Until someone from your world comes along, you might find some solace in that. I know I have.

Sounds more like he doesn't want to believe you.
